Eclectic In-Home Session in West Seattle

When M asked to do photos in their home - their first home that they bought together - I was immediately excited. I am always excited at the idea of shooting in someone’s safe place. It makes for a more intimate and relaxed feel all around. It tends to give the couple the advantage in their session. Which is really what I want! I hope for all couples to come in to their session ready to take on the world.

When I arrived I was overwhelmed with beauty and a thoughtfully furnished and decorated space. Light pouring from skylights galore and warm wood tones; colorful art on every wall and flowers and candles everywhere.

I mean honestly it was a dream.

I had to get over the initial beauty of their home before I could even begin shooting. So we talked about art and furniture and the best antique stores in Seattle. Gah - what a way to make new friends.

Their dog, Charlie, was a huge part of why they wanted their session at home. She’s their baby and rightfully so - just look at her! Such a stunner.

We made sure to include Charlie in every part and she loved it mostly.

M was adorable enough to get a cake with their wedding date on it (cute!!!). I would hugely recommend this idea. Welcome into a slow Saturday morning at home with M + J.
