Intentional Microwedding on Orcas Island | Victorian Valley Chapel
Itβs hard to sum up this day.
Iβll start here, E + R had some of the most magnetic energy I have ever had the joy of witnessing. From the get-go I knew that their day was going to be nothing short of actual magic. When E inquired, she wrote β I know what I want it to feel like-intentional, close, and intimate with lots of good food.β I think she really went after this because it felt like the most beautiful dinner party with their closest friends on an island in the San Juans. Dreamy? Nothing short of.
E got ready at a her hotel with her mom. She surprised her friends with a βfirst lookβ and they all sobbed. As to be expected. She looked like a literal bride angel.
R got ready at an airbnb that was about 15 mins away. He and his family hung out, joked around, and relaxed before it all began. They decided to skip a first look and Iβm so glad they did. Rβs face when E walked down the aisle was unforgettable. Burned into my brain, in the best way. SO MUCH EMOTION. So much raw giddiness for one another.
They popped some champagne at the chapel after the ceremony. Rung the bell. Smiled and laughed and beamed.
Afterwards we headed to Orcas Hotel for a crab dinner. (Orcas hotel did an incredible job with the food and drink - I would HIGHLY recommend if youβre planning a wedding in the San Juans.) The aprons for the crab dinner made it the absolute best esthetic choice.
Followed by some sweet toasts and some great dance moves inside. Such a simple yet profound day. One I will actually never ever forget.
Ending this post with 3 of my favorite film (35mm) frames from the day shared below :)
Venues: Victorian Valley Chapel for the ceremony and Orcas Hotel for the reception celebrated on Orcas Island in the San Juans
Getting married in the San Juan Islands? Specifically Orcas Island? Iβd love to be a part! I know the islands well and love any chance I get to be out there :)
