Newborn Session at Home in Mount Vernon, Washington
I am convinced more and more all the time that parenthood, motherhood, foster care, adoption, all of the family things - are sacred.
We were created to care for and be cared for. We were created to be loved, accepted, embraced, noticed, encouraged, and belong. I see this every time I’m with a family; the inherent need to love to be loved.
I especially see it at newborn sessions. These (new) parents are swooning, doting, completely smitten with their newest tribe member. And while it can all be a messy, crazy, overwhelming blur, it’s also the most beautiful thing to have ever happened to them.
There is no minding of the dirty diapers, the tired eyes, the fuss.
I saw this with G + A when I went over to photograph sweet baby, Len. As someone who only photographs newborns several times a year, I’m ALWAYS mesmerized by them and their parents. It is such a sweet honor to be welcomed into this brand new baby’s little world.
I love the at home session - the coziness of it. The relaxed atmosphere, mellow mood, and casual wardrobes. It’s the best way to go when you’re tired and figuring it all out but still want photos of the newborn phase. Just stay home :)
How precious and beautiful is life. So thankful to document families in every season.
